Concluding this two-part interview series, DeRace CEO talked at length about the plans for the platform as well as the general trajectory of the markets. He went on length to explain the revenue and growth models of DeRace and how it plans to tackle four different industries.
What is your current road map for the project? When can users expect to breed and sell their horses on the marketplace? When can we bet on a live virtual horse race?
We are planning our IDO for the end of July. Horses and breeding parts will be available for the players at the end of Q3 of 2021. The racing part should be ready by the end of this year. And the betting should be live in Q1-Q2 of 2022.
Can you tell us about your future plans for this project? How do you plan to expand?
By implementing our betting part to other crypto gambling and betting sites and later on to regular online casinos and betting platforms.
What are your monetization plans for the platform? How do you plan on generating revenue?
NFT horse and hippodrome sales, horse breeding fees and additional NFT items. Also, 7% of hippodrome profits are collected, allowing us to have a constant revenue stream — depending on platform popularity and size of the user base.
What other fields/avenues do you plan on expanding the project into?
I think we are trying to cover already massive industries. The biggest challenge in my opinion would be trying to stay relevant in these industries and by staying relevant and exciting you grow and expand naturally. The only way to accomplish that is by constantly updating and improving your product.
That’s why without these functions which I’ve mentioned earlier we already have ideas for at least +2 upcoming years. Like jockeys — so a player would have to choose the best horse + jockey combination for the race — which will make races more skill than luck based. Different terrain hippodromes, limited ability to prompt horses in live races, traumas, etc.
Do you have any parting thoughts to share? Where do you see DeRace in 10 years from now?
If you have never seen live horse racing before, I highly recommend watching it at least once. The adrenalin, the speed and the atmosphere is way different watching it from the other side of the screen. We will provide a similar experience to our community.
DeRace strives for mass adoption. Years from now, people from across the world (and not only from the crypto community) will breed their horses and run their races with the aim of having their own hippodromes.
