This week at DeRace, we’ve reached a milestone with the launch of our very first fully automated tournament — the annual DERCember Cup 2023.
This event not only offers an exciting competition but also showcases the potential of our newly-released Tournament feature. This week, we’ve begun the development of the Jockey Silks Creator UI for Teams and Clubs. This tool is a significant enhancement for team-based gameplay, allowing teams to design and customize their jockeys’ silks.
The development of this UI focuses on providing an intuitive, user-friendly interface that will let teams to get creative and customize the silks for their own liking. As we progress in developing this UI, we look forward to the diverse and creative designs our community will bring to the racetracks of DeRace.
🏇 Player Achievements
A significant addition to DeRace this week is the launch of the User Achievements. This new feature allows players to embark on a fulfilling journey, unlocking achievements and getting special spin-the-wheels with awesome prizes.
The achievements include participating in unique races, where each race counts as a singular achievement, regardless of the number of horses entered by a user. Except for the ‘total DERC won from the races’ achievements, where the total winnings are accumulated across all horses in a single race, amplifying the reward potential for players who enter multiple horses.
Players can access the User Achievements feature directly from their profiles, adding a personalized touch to their gaming experience. We believe that this feature will significantly enhance the player experience, making each milestone in the game more rewarding and memorable, adding an extra layer of excitement to the gameplay.
🏅 Leaderboards
As we approach the final stages of developing the Leaderboards feature, our focus has shifted towards reviewing the back-end aspects of this significant addition.
Leaderboards represent a complex integration of real-time data and player statistics. Our dev team has been diligently working to ensure that the data feeding into the Leaderboards is accurate, up-to-date, and reflective of each player’s performance.
This week, particular attention was paid to optimizing the data retrieval process. We’re streamlining how player statistics, and other relevant data are collected and displayed. This optimization is crucial for maintaining high performance and responsiveness of the Leaderboards, especially as they handle large volumes of data.
As we finalize the Leaderboards, we’re confident that they will foster a sense of healthy competition, providing players with a benchmark to measure their progress and success.
