As the weeks go by and challenges come and go, our dedication remains strong! Let’s dive in and take a look at what the DeRace team was up to this week 🚀
👥 Teams/Clubs
We’re excited to announce the launch of the Teams/Clubs feature on our test-net. This initial rollout is a foundational step towards creating a more interactive and collaborative platform, enabling players to form or join teams and clubs within the DeRace community
From a technical side, deploying the Teams/Clubs feature on the test-net involved rigorous preparation, including the development of a robust backend to support team functionalities and a user-friendly frontend for an intuitive user experience. Our development team has been focused on ensuring that the infrastructure is scalable to accommodate future expansions and additional functionalities.
This launch on test-net is just the beginning, in the coming weeks, we’ll be working on testing, enhancing and expanding this feature, with the aim of fully accommodating the community’s needs and desires.
🏆 Tournaments
Responding to the needs of our community, we’ve begun enhancing the tournament functionalities within DeRace. A significant focus of this development effort is the development of options to build tournaments with different track lengths, providing a more varied and dynamic competitive environment.
Additionally, we’re implementing new horse performance ranking opportunities, such as ranking by total average time, which will offer new ways to measure racing participants’ success.
Our development team is working on creating flexible tournament logic that can accommodate a variety of formats and performance metrics. This flexibility is key to offering tournament organizers and participants more control over how races are structured and how winners are determined.
And we have more exciting additions to the Tournaments planned in the future so stay tuned!
🏁 Finalizing the Roadmap
After extensive discussions with our team and deep engagement with our community, including valuable conversations with DeRacers and DERCArmy, we are on the verge of finalizing our new roadmap. This roadmap is not just a plan for the future, but also a reflection of our commitment to aligning DeRace’s development with the needs and aspirations of our community.
Incorporating community feedback into the roadmap is a key aspect of our approach. By incorporating feedback collected from our players, we’re ensuring that the roadmap prioritizes the features and improvements that matter most to the community.
🛠 Minor platform improvements
In addition to the major developments, this week has also seen a focus on minor platform improvements that significantly enhance the overall user experience.
Among these improvements, we addressed a technical issue where the horse thigh mark was not displaying correctly in the 3D viewer. Furthermore, we’ve implemented bug fixes related to horse rentals, eliminating glitches that affected user transactions. These improvements might seem small, but they play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our players.
We’ve also carried out further database optimizations, which is an ongoing task that underpins the smooth operation of our entire ecosystem and provides a stable and efficient gaming environment.
