As the weeks go by and challenges come and go, our dedication remains strong! Let’s dive in and take a look at what the DeRace team has accomplished throughout this week 🚀
🏆 Tournaments
This week, we’ve worked on expanding the tournament functionalities by launching additional tournament ranking types in the test-net, including ‘Combined Stage Average Best Time’ and ‘Combined Stage Average Worst Time’.
Developing the back-end infrastructure to support these new ranking types required our team to build on the existing tournament architecture. This involved creating new metrics for tracking and comparing race times across different stages, as well as ensuring that these metrics are accurately reflected in tournament leaderboard and rewards.
The introduction of these additional ranking types in tournaments is significant for the DeRace community, as it diversifies the competitive experience, allowing for a wider range of tournaments to be created.
🐴 “Worst-time” races
Our team started developing the back-end infrastructure for one of the most anticipated new features — ‘worst-time’ races, where the slowest 3 horses or 3 worst performing horses are rewarded, inverting the traditional racing reward structure.
The technical implementation of ‘worst-time’ races involves significant modifications to our existing race logic and reward systems. Our development team is creating logic that would accurately reward performances based on these new criteria and seamlessly integrate ‘worst-time’ races into the DeRace ecosystem.
We’re aiming to start testing this feature next week.
🏁 2024 Roadmap
This week, DeRace is excited to announce the release of our new 2024 roadmap, a comprehensive plan that positions DeRace not just as a leader in the sports category, but as a pioneer in the GameFi universe.
We’re aiming to be fully multi-chain compatible, player-driven, athlete-positive, easily accessible, and applicable to real life. This ambitious roadmap shows our dedication to forging the future of gaming.
The roadmap’s emphasis on accessibility and real-life applicability also guides our development priorities. We’re working on intuitive user interfaces and game mechanics that are welcoming to new players.
And all of this thanks to the invaluable input form our community! Go check out the new DeRace 2024 roadmap and follow our progress 👉 https://derace.com/roadmap
👥 Teams/Clubs
After successfully rolling out teams/clubs feature on test-net last week, our team has shifted focus to refining the user interface of this feature.
The technical process of refining the UI involves interface design optimization, and usability testing. Our goal is to create an interface that is not only visually appealing but also highly functional, facilitating easy navigation and interaction within the teams/clubs feature. This includes streamlined processes for joining/creating teams, and managing members.
