Another week has come to an end with the zkRace team continuing the development process to bring new features into the ecosystem in order to elevate the gaming experience.

🐴 Horse NFT staking
This week, we began working on the user interface design for the Horse Staking feature. The focus is on creating an intuitive and easy-to-use interface that will simplify the staking process, making it easy for players to track rewards and manage their staked assets.
Our design team is currently in the early stages of developing the UI, with special attention to ensuring that the interface is responsive and accessible across both desktop and mobile platforms. Integration with the back-end will follow once the design is finalized.
The upcoming Horse NFT staking for Sugar Cubes is set to maximize the utility of all horses: “Donkeys” will gain another utility through staking, while champion horses can boost their breeding capabilities using the earned Sugar Cubes. And more to follow!
🎡 Spin-the-Wheel
Our back-end developer Kristis has started working on the logic for bulk spins. This enhancement will allow players to process multiple Spin-the-Wheel actions at once, addressing feedback from users who found the individual spin process time-consuming.
With bulk spins, players will be able to fast-track through all the spins they’ve accumulated in one go, making the process more efficient and user-friendly. This involves creating a scalable back-end that can handle multiple spin requests simultaneously without overloading the system. Kristis is ensuring that the server processes these bulk requests in real time, maintaining accuracy in reward distribution and ensuring that players’ inventories update correctly after each bulk action.
Next week, we will shift our focus to developing the front-end interface for the bulk Spin-the-Wheel feature. Once the interface is ready, we will move into a thorough testing phase to ensure the feature runs smoothly without any performance issues, guaranteeing a seamless experience for players.
🏆 Seasons
This week, zkRace team began discussions about introducing the Seasons feature, which was initially brought to us by zkRacers. The Seasons concept is designed to create structured competitions over several months, encouraging daily participation and rewarding players based on their activity and performance.
Our discussions have focused on the timeline, main mechanics, and how best to implement this feature into the existing zkRace ecosystem. We’re also exploring how to integrate the scoring system and prize structure into the game’s infrastructure.
Seasons feature promises to bring more excitement and competition to zkRace, helping to sustain long-term engagement while offering players a fresh and rewarding gameplay experience. Stay tuned as we continue to develop this idea further!
🎮 Free Trial Mode
As part of ongoing improvements to the Free Trial Mode, we’ve introduced a new enhancement for players who get stuck during the trial mode. We added a new button that allows users to backtrack a few steps without losing progress or rewards, significantly improving the onboarding experience for new players.
Adding this button involved revisiting the Free Trial Mode’s navigation structure to enable users to safely go back without resetting their progress. Our development team ensured that this addition integrates smoothly with the current quest-tracking system, so players can continue from where they left off. We also conducted testing to ensure that the feature resolves known issues without introducing new bugs or glitches.
We’re confident that this enhancement will improve the onboarding experience, helping new players stay engaged and complete the trial without frustration, which is essential for retention and encouraging long-term participation.
