Another busy week has passed by in a blur and now it’s time for the brand new zkRace development update.

🐴 Horse NFT Staking
This week, our game economist has been working on the economy for permanent horse retirement.
We plan to introduce an option for players to stake their horses permanently, allowing them to earn Sugar Cubes forever. By allowing permanent staking, we’re providing players with a way to gain consistent benefits from horses that may no longer be active in races but still hold value within the zkRace ecosystem.
Implementing this feature is crucial for enhancing player engagement and offering new ways to utilize horse NFTs. It ensures that all horses, regardless of their racing performance, can still contribute and be worthy.
🏆 Kings by zkRacers
We have engaged in discussions with the zkRacers (MrE and NotAVampire) about implementing the Kings event, a community-powered competition, on the zkRace platform.
These discussions are focused on understanding community expectations and integrating their ideas into our platform to ensure the event is successful, while our team is exploring technical possibilities to integrate the event’s unique mechanics.
Next week, we’ll begin setting up the development calendar for the Kings event integration.
🎁 Bulk Chest Openings
The development of bulk Chest openings has reached the testing phase, where we are closely monitoring its functionality and user interface. This feature allows players to open multiple chests at once, significantly speeding up the reward process and enhancing player satisfaction.
Our full-stack developer Gytis is focused on ensuring the back-end can handle multiple requests simultaneously without errors, while the front-end is designed to display results clearly and efficiently. Testing on the test-net helps us identify any potential issues before the feature goes live, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for users.

🏅 Leaderboards
Our developers started working on the Leaderboards update to add a new category for the slowest horses, complementing the existing fastest racer category.
This week, we also refined one of the leaderboards categories to separate equipment and non-equipment races to ensure fair recognition in the “Current-month Fastest Racer” category. Technical adjustments were made to accurately filter race results.
Moreover, we just launched a new leaderboard challenge for November with a 12600 $ZERC prize pool, encouraging continuous interaction and competition among players. Each player who takes the 1st spot in current-month’s fastest racer category on every track and distance, will receive 300 $ZERC tokens.
