It’s Friday again and you know what it means: it’s time for the weekly DeRace development update!
So without further ado, let’s dive into the latest accomplishments made by the DeRace team 🤩
🏁 Challenge Races
This week we have made significant advances with the upcoming Challenge Races feature.
We have built a preliminary database structure and improved the general sequence of how the feature is going to work. The part where players can challenge others is now in development.
The challenge request system will be seamless and intuitive, allowing players to easily choose which of their horses can challenge other NFT horses, select the rewards in advance, and send requests to other players who can either accept the request and race head-to-head or decline it. So get ready to challenge your friends and rivals as we bring even more excitement to DeRace!
🎖 Player achievements
The DeRace team has already begun crafting the logic for the player achievement feature.
These achievements are based on different metrics such as the number of furlongs the owner’s horse has raced, the number of tournaments they have participated in or the number of Challenge Races won. However, this is just a small selection of the many types of achievements that are planned for implementation.
We believe that the introduction of the player achievement feature will provide players with more motivation to play and compete against each other, as well as create a more immersive and rewarding gameplay experience. We are currently working on the feature’s design and implementation, and cannot wait to share more details with the community soon.

🐎 Training Grounds
This week we have completed and launched Training Ground Races, requested by our community.
This feature is exclusively available for NFT horses that are at level 1–25. The Training Ground Races provide a great opportunity for players to explore different surfaces and track lengths, without the need for any equipment. The entry fee for these races is set at only 1 $DERC, making it a cost-effective way to train and learn more about your NFT horses.
Moreover, Training Grounds is the best place to figure out the preferred tracks of your NFT horses, helping players to choose the right tracks for future races. Explore the new Training Grounds races and see how your NFT horses perform!
🏟 Hippodrome Management System
This week we have also added a new feature in the Hippodrome Management System.
More specifically we have included an option to adjust the registration deadline (in minutes) as per the hippodrome manager’s choice.
This is especially exciting news for the upcoming community-owned hippodromes, where the managers will have full authority to manage the races as per their choice. The new feature will help them to administer races with precision and make the race management process more efficient.
Additionally, we will be using this feature to encourage the top-performing horses to aim higher by accessing races, special events and tournaments with higher entry fees/higher rewards.
