Another busy week has passed by in a blur and now it’s time for the brand new DeRace development update.
So let’s dive into the accomplishments made by the DeRace team so far!🤿
🏟 Community owned hippodromes
This week we have completed the base framework related to the % of the entrance fee collection and their distribution to the hippodrome NFT owners.
To participate in fee distribution, players need to deposit their hippodrome ownership NFTs (e.g., DeRace Jockey Club avatar) into the system. Collected fees are then distributed among all NFT owners who have made deposits. The distribution share depends on the number of NFTs owned and deposited, as well as the total number of hippodrome ownership NFTs deposited into the platform.
With the framework now in place, our focus shifts to additional features surrounding hippodrome ownership. This includes collecting and displaying various stats to empower hippodrome managers in making informed decisions, creating a dedicated wallet to store funds for event sponsorships, and other related aspects.
🏇 Challenge races
This week, we have dedicated a significant amount of time to testing the Challenge Races feature. Our team engaged in friendly competition, challenging each other with various race parameters to ensure the system functions seamlessly and that prizes are awarded accurately.
During testing, we identified potential areas for visual upgrades. Specifically, we aim to enhance the racing experience by positioning the horses closer to viewers, creating a more visually engaging spectacle. Additionally, we plan to update the race ending and results tab to reflect the single winner in each race.
Rest assured, we have already begun focusing our efforts on addressing these issues to deliver a smooth and visually pleasing experience for our players.
🏆 Automated additional rewards
In addition to our ongoing testing efforts, we dedicated time this week to test the automated additional DERC reward feature. We made updates to the test-net version of the hippodrome manager and custom race creator, enabling managers and race creators to utilize this option effectively.
Currently, this feature can be implemented for both equipment and non-equipment races in the automatically generated race category. However, further testing is required to ensure the accurate and fair distribution of rewards among the race winners.
In the upcoming week, our focus will be on fine-tuning this feature and conducting thorough testing to ensure a seamless experience for all participants.
👩🎨 UI/UX improvements
We value the feedback and suggestions from our amazing community, and we’re excited to share that we’ve been actively working on implementing your ideas to enhance the user experience on our platform. This week, our talented frontend designer, Katerina, has been hard at work bringing these suggestions to life.
Among the improvements, Katerina has focused on enhancing the Event tab and Racing history tab, ensuring a more intuitive and engaging user interface. She has also dedicated efforts to updating the presentation of race winners in the results section, creating a more visually appealing and informative display. Additionally, she has made various improvements throughout the platform to seamlessly integrate upcoming features and provide an even smoother user experience.
We’re thrilled to announce that most of these fixes and enhancements have already made their way into the testnet, and we’re hoping to launch them next week.
