July has been an exciting month for zkRace, full of major updates and improvements designed to make the game better and expand our community. Here’s a look at what we’ve achieved this month and a preview of what’s coming next.
Free Trial Mode: Coming this August
This month, we’ve been finalizing the Free Trial Mode, which is key to onboarding new players smoothly and helping them to get started. We’ve simplified the interface by removing more complex options like NFT burning and withdrawals, which aren’t relevant to the Free Trial Mode and can be confusing for beginners. This lets new players focus on the basics of the game, without feeling overwhelmed.
Feedback from our community has also been crucial in shaping the Free Trial Mode. It’s helped us fix problems, improve features, and make the entry process as user-friendly as possible. Thanks to thorough testing and listening to user feedback, we’ve developed an onboarding experience that not only meets but exceeds new players’ expectations, ensuring they have a fun and rewarding start in zkRace.
As we look forward to launching the Free Trial Mode in August, we’re adding a rewards system to encourage new players to dive deep into zkRace. This system will reward them for completing the walkthrough, helping to keep them engaged and eager to keep playing in the actual game. By making it easier and more rewarding to get started, we’re hoping to attract more new players and help them become long-term members of the zkRace community.
Leaderboards: Rewarding the Champions
July has seen some great updates to our Leaderboards feature, now making them even more exciting. We’ve started rewarding the most active and high-performing players each month with $ZERC and NFT prizes. This new reward system encourages players to participate more and aim higher, creating a fun and competitive environment.
We’ve also added a real-time countdown timer to the Leaderboards. This helps players see how much time they have left to improve their rankings before the Leaderboard resets. It keeps the competition lively and encourages strategic play all month long.

Tournaments: Adding more flexibility
This month we’ve introduced mixed-length Tournaments, an addition that allows us and other event organizers to host events with Tournaments of different lengths. This variety adds more flexibility and makes each tournament more dynamic and exciting for participants.
We’ve also released one more upgrade to the Tournaments: mixed-length stages. This allows each stage of a tournament to vary in length, making the events more engaging and allowing players to adjust their strategies based on different race conditions. This flexibility keeps the gameplay interesting and challenging.
With these new Tournament features, our goal is to to build a lively and competitive community within zkRace, increasing activity and excitement throughout our platform.
Jockeys: Enhancing the Depth of the Game
Our team has revisited the Jockeys. zkRace devs have made updates to how Jockeys work in the game to ensure they fit well with our newest features, such as tournaments, and custom races
Additionally, we’ve been testing Jockey NFTs with the latest updates to ensure they integrate well. We’re making sure these NFTs work seamlessly with the new features without any issues.
Moving forward, we’ll keep improving this feature to make sure it meets our community’s expectations and doesn’t overcomplicate the in-game mechanics.
Ancestry Rewards and Gen1 breeding: Incentivizing Players
Significant progress has been made with our Ancestry Rewards, a system designed to provide ongoing benefits to the ancestors of breeding horses in zkRace. This feature introduces a new system fee which will then be distributed amongst the ancesters, creating a sustainable model that rewards players who breed horses.

We’ve also been working hard on preparing the backend infrastructure for Gen1 breeding. This setup ensures that the breeding mechanics work smoothly and integrate well with the Ancestry Rewards system. Our goal is to support not just the first generation of breeding but to lay a solid foundation for future generations. This preparation is crucial for keeping the game interesting and competitive as it evolves.
As we move forward, we’re excited to see how these changes will deepen players’ connections to their horses and enhance the overall game experience. We’re looking forward to launching these features and seeing the community’s response.
