It’s time for our very first Monthly Development Review! We’re super excited to kick off these monthly check-ins to keep you in the loop about all the cool stuff we’ve been working on. So, let’s jump right into what’s been happening this past month! 🎉
Tournaments: amplifying the competitive edge
This past month in DeRace, the Tournaments feature has made impressive strides, driven by community anticipation and our commitment to an exceptional gaming experience.
Key to this progress was the internal testing phase, revealing crucial areas for improvement. Our development team enthusiastically tackled these challenges, focusing on refining the logic flow and backend infrastructure for a smoother tournament operation. Complementing these technical enhancements, the user interface received a significant update to improve visual appeal and user engagement.
The highlight of the month was the launch of closed community testing. This step was vital, providing us with direct feedback from our players, shaping the final adjustments to the Tournaments feature. As this testing phase wrapped up, we gained valuable insights into the feature’s performance and user reception, guiding us in the final refinement stages.
We’re on the verge of introducing a fully polished, player-ready feature that will fill the DeRace ecosystem with competitive spirit and community participation. Stay tuned for more updates as we gear up for the launch of this exciting feature!
Teams/Clubs: developing a multifaceted feature to bring players together
In November, our focus was set on developing the Teams/Clubs feature. Our collaborative approach, involving community feedback, has been crucial in shaping this feature to align with player needs and preferences. We concentrated on building a solid database structure and designing user-friendly interfaces to make team and club management intuitive and accessible.
Key developments included streamlining the backend logic for easy team creation and member management and initiating the design of the club creation form. These steps ensure that forming and managing teams and clubs is a seamless experience, enhancing the social interaction within the DeRace ecosystem.
As we keep refining this feature, we’re excited about its potential to enrich the gaming experience by bringing players together. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue the development!
Leaderboards: celebrating our community’s achievements
We also revisited our Leaderboards feature — a pivotal element to showcase the top performers in our metaverse. We have laid the foundational logic and created a sleek, user-friendly design. Our aim was to create an interface that was not only visually engaging but also intuitive and informative.
We’ve dedicated significant effort to integrate NFT horse statistics into a robust backend, ensuring the Leaderboards accurately reflect each horse’s achievements and capabilities. This feature is designed to dynamically display both monthly and all-time rankings, making it a constantly evolving and competitive space.
A key focus was on marrying the back-end structure with the front-end interface, ensuring functionality paired with aesthetic appeal. Through rigorous testing, we ensured every aspect of the Leaderboards was up to our high standards, from data accuracy to the user interface.
Looking ahead, the Leaderboards are set to become an important feature in the DeRace ecosystem, fostering competition and offering a platform for recognition among our community.
Overall improvement of the game platform: Smoother, Better, Faster, Stronger
These past few months, DeRace team, led by our CTO Kristis, worked on strategic enhancements to boost transaction speeds and overall system responsiveness. This involved a significant overhaul of the platform’s code and a targeted effort on database optimization to streamline processes and reduce loading times.
The strides made have laid a solid foundation for a smoother, more responsive DeRace platform. As we continue our journey of innovation and refinement, we’re excited to release these improvements to enrich the gaming experience for our community.
Race Intro: Elevating Races by making them more real life — like
This month, we also have been focused on enhancing the racing experience with the development of the Race Intro feature. Our goal was to create an introduction that is visually captivating and informative, offering a detailed preview of each horse and jockey at the racetrack. This is particularly important for the immersive experience of streamed races.
Our game designers played a crucial role, testing various camera angles to capture the essence of each race. The selection of the optimal angle was a key milestone, ensuring that every race introduction sets the stage for an engaging and dynamic experience. We’ve also been integrating these intros seamlessly into the game flow, adding to the excitement and anticipation at the start of each race.
In addition to the visual elements, we’ve been developing close-up shots for the race participants, adding a personal and detailed touch to the intros. This feature promises to bring a new level of narrative depth and excitement to DeRace.
Community Driven Updates
We’ve actively engaged with the community and incorporated valuable feedback into our updates.
After listening to the community’s concerns, we introduced a crucial update to the race API, implementing a 30-second delay for automated racing solutions to level the playing field between manual and automated racers. This shows are dedication to providing a more fair gaming experience to everyone.
We also finalized the eagerly awaited Ancestral Fortune Race event, incorporating community suggestions to streamline the registration process and enhance the event’s competitiveness and appeal. These improvements include standardized race distances, an increased limit on the number of horses per wallet in the Qualifiers, and a boosted prize pool, all while maintaining exclusive participation for Gen0 horses.
We’re excited to see these changes in action and look forward to continuing our collaboration with the community to further refine and improve the DeRace experience.
